Jason’s Views
The breakdown of the family is at the root of our social problems. We don’t have an abortion problem in this country anymore than we have a gun problem; we have a family problem. I’ve experienced this firsthand and I want to remind everyone I interact with that strengthening our families will solve our problems, not the government. As John Adams said, “The constitution was written for a moral and religious people.” I am pro life and believe that every individual, particularly the voiceless, has the right to have their life protected.
I believe in the second amendment to the Constitution. Individuals have the right to keep and bear arms to protect their own life, their families, their property and their liberty. This country and constitution will not be saved by legislation or politicians; it must be saved in our homes. Utahns must put our lives in order, and then focus on raising a generation that can restore the light of liberty to this country.
I believe in the truths this country was founded upon; that there is a God, that each of us has the seeds of divinity, and that Government was created to serve man. These three truths will never change, and they are still worth fighting for.
As government was created by the people, to serve the people, it derives its powers from the consent of the governed. The government does not create wealth, it takes wealth. When Government replaces God as the grantor of our rights the end result is always tyranny. The right to assemble and the right to freely worship are both at stake.
Utah is not immune to the issues plaguing other states. We have to get back to our limited government roots. As a constitutional conservative, I will fight for the middle class and for Utah’s families to continually access liberty.
A vibrant middle class is absolutely crucial to liberty, and there is a war raging against it. The threats of socialism are real. I stand for the right to own and protect private property. I oppose all programs that violate the rights of the individual. This country was founded upon the principles of equal opportunities, not forced equality of outcome.
I believe everyone has the right to try and the right to fail. Charity is essential and best accomplished by choice, not force. I believe that sustainable work is locally-led and that federalism was inspired by God. I will focus on deregulation and fight to restore and strengthen the middle class.
As Thomas Jefferson reminded us, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” Our children need to master the fundamentals like reading, writing and arithmetic not socialist ideologies such as critical race theory and marxism. I want to see trade schools and hands-on learning become a focus which will help future generations engage in honest work.
We must teach the principles of liberty as defined in the Constitution. This starts with each individual understanding the source of their rights. We don’t lack freedom loving citizens, but we must re energize our young minds’ commitment to liberty.
I believe in free markets. Individuals should be able to freely exchange goods and services without heavy handed interference from the government picking winners and losers. If you don’t own the fruits of your labor, you are not free. Taxes have become an out-of-control burden on the American people. Anything that simplifies the tax code is progress. The tax code should serve the average American taxpayer, not lobbyists and bureaucrats.
For America to remain free, she must have a strong robust middle class. We have given our manufacturing strength to the CCP of China, and it must be brought back.
Trade is essential, but it must be fair, and we cannot financially enrich countries that are seeking our destruction.
I am against globalization and we need to remember our elected officials are on our payroll, not the world’s. Our form of government is not compatible with communism. We have to be a hawk on China and while I believe in a strong military, I am against the military industrial complex. Our family will always stand with Israel.

The federal debt is approaching $29 trillion. We must demand fiscal responsibility in Washington. 48 states have passed a balanced budget amendment. It’s time for the federal government to meet the same standard. I refuse to allow corporations to continue to manipulate the free market while being propped up by taxpayer dollars.
The government does not create wealth, they take it through forced taxation, inflation, or saddling our children with debt.
This country was established on the principles of a free market. Every time the government gets involved or passes bills like Obamacare, the inefficiencies of big government cause more problems and increased costs. We have seen how healthcare costs have skyrocketed in the last several years because of government distortion of markets. I want to put healthcare decisions back into the hands of the people and their care providers.
We need immigration but we also need immigration reform. It’s been too hard for too long to follow our complicated and antiquated immigration laws and procedures. We cannot have an open backdoor. The continued cost of illegal immigration will destroy our country. America has and always will be the beacon of hope for those lost around the world, and that can only continue with simplified and sound immigration policies.
